Free Training: Building Resilience in Your Charity - A Guide for Trustees
Boost your charity’s resilience: practical strategies on governance, fundraising, assets & mergers for trustees.
Charities are operating in an increasingly difficult environment - increased demand for services, funding shortages and increased operating costs are all putting a strain on day-to-day activities.
What options are available to help alleviate these stresses? This session will answer these questions and more, with real, practical advice that will help you get the most out of your charity or not-for-profit organisation.
Specific topics include:
- Reviewing charitable purposes and governing documents,
- Diversifying fundraising,
- Maximising existing assets, and
- Restructuring and Mergers.
Ellis Pugh is a solicitor working from Shakespeare Martineau’s East Midlands Office. He specialises in advising charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations on a range of matters with a particular interest in governance. He has advised charities from some of the largest in the country to startups on a wide range of charity law matters.
Booking information
Our training programme is free for anyone working or volunteering with a Derby City VCSE organisation.
Booking is essential. As places are limited, we kindly ask each organisation to book one ticket only to ensure fair access for all. Please share your learning with your colleagues afterwards.
To help reduce no-shows at our training sessions and make sure spaces go to those who need them, we are now asking for a £10 deposit to secure your place. Derby organisations will have this refunded after attending. For non-Derby organisations and anyone who does not attend, the £10 fee is non-refundable. A small non-refundable Eventbrite processing fee will also be added at checkout.
Parking
Please note that we have limited free parking available in our car park, which is at the rear of the building and accessed via Melbourne Street. There is on-street (paid) parking available on Charnwood Street, The Avenue and Leopold Street and also a small NCP car park on the corner of The Avenue and Leopold Street.
