Derby Diverse Carers Report 2025/26

This report presents the findings from the most extensive engagement with carers from diverse communities undertaken in Derby to date.

The Derby Diverse Carers Report 2025/26, produced by Community Action Derby through the Derby Diverse Carers Alliance, brings together the experiences of 169 carers who took part in a survey, alongside 446 participations across facilitated group sessions delivered in partnership with 21 trusted community organisations.

In this report, "diverse carers" refers to carers whose circumstances, identities, or community contexts create additional barriers to being identified, recognised or supported. This includes, but is not limited to, carers from ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The report was produced to provide clear, usable evidence to inform decision‑making, commissioning and system change.

The findings highlight the need for:

• Earlier and more proactive identification of carers
• Practical, relational support to help carers navigate services
• Stronger community-based and culturally responsive support models
