Chaddesden West Community Waste Day
Got bulky household waste to clear? Bring it along to the Chaddesden West Community Waste Day, where residents can dispose of general household waste, recycle metal items, and donate reusable goods - all free of charge.
How It Works:
- Sort your waste before you arrive.
- Bring your items to the collection point during the advertised times.
- The team will load your items onto the collection vehicles for you.
- For safety reasons, please do not load items yourself.
Together, let's keep Derby tidy - one street at a time.
What you can bring:
Household waste items (less than 1.25 metres wide), including:
- Bagged household waste
- Bagged garden waste
- Furniture
- Soft furnishings and textiles
- Small amounts of DIY waste, such as carpet and wood offcuts
- Metal items for recycling
- Reusable household items suitable for donation
Please do not bring:
- Paint, oil, chemicals or other liquids
- Electrical items or batteries
- Builders' waste (including concrete, rubble, plasterboard, bricks, soil and sand)
- Hazardous waste such as asbestos
- Gas bottles
- Motor vehicle parts, including wheels and tyres
Good quality items can also be donated for reuse, including bric-a-brac, home decor, toys, CDs, DVDs and records, garden equipment and fitness equipment.
Waste must only be brought to the site on Monday 10 August between 8:00am and 1:00pm.
Leaving waste outside these times is considered fly-tipping and may result in:
- A Fixed Penalty Notice of £600
- A fine of up to £50,000
- Up to six months' imprisonment upon conviction
