About the Roles

Treasurer

The Treasurer plays a vital role in overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the charity. Working closely with the Chair, CEO, and fellow trustees, the Treasurer supports sound financial management and strategic planning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight of the charity’s financial position

  • Supporting the preparation and review of budgets and financial reports

  • Ensuring appropriate financial controls and risk management processes are in place

  • Advising the Board on financial planning and sustainability

You do not need to be a qualified accountant, but you should feel confident reviewing financial information and supporting good financial governance.

Deputy Safeguarding Lead

The Deputy Safeguarding Lead supports the Board in maintaining strong safeguarding oversight and ensuring the wellbeing of the children and young people we serve remains central to our work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the oversight and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures

  • Assisting the Safeguarding Lead where required

  • Ensuring safeguarding remains a strategic priority at Board level

  • Promoting a culture of safety and compliance across the organisation

Experience in safeguarding, education, youth work, or a related field is helpful but not essential. Training and support will be provided.

Who Aspire 2 Succeed is Looking For

Aspire 2 Succeed welcomes individuals who demonstrate integrity, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people. Trustees should be collaborative, engaged, and willing to dedicate time to both strategic discussions and, where appropriate, operational support.
