Women's Health Hub Engagement Event

We have been working in partnership with Links CVS and Joined Up Care Derbyshire to capture views of women across the city and county as part of the Women's Health Hub project.

The findings of the online public survey and targeted community workshops have been collated into a report, and the feedback was presented by staff from Community Action Derby, Links CVS, NHS and Public Health teams at events in Derby City and Chesterfield.

During the event, we heard from a range of speakers including:

Dr Kath Bagshaw, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, welcomed attendees to the event, and gave an introduction to the project and why it matters.

Community One presented their engagement work with South Asian and Arab women.

Sophie Maher and Mary Hague, Public Health Practitioners from Sexual Health discussed Investment in Schools, and Workforce and Training development.

Sonya Robotham from VOX Feminarum talked about the discussions held within their groups, and the findings from their community workshops.

Louise Adams and Fawn Kitson from Love4Life discussed the voices of girls in the conversation around women’s health and the findings from their community workshops.

Teresa Waldron from Deafinitely Women talked about the barriers to accessing women’s health services for women from the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Beth Fletcher, Engagement Manager at the ICB discussed the engagement methods for the project across Derby City and Derbyshire County.

Helen Britten and Michelle Butler from Community Action Derby discussed the findings of the Derby City survey and community workshops and thanked community groups for their support and feedback.

Following a lunch break, Carrie Carnell, Communications and Engagement Officer at the ICB, invited attendees to participate in a round table activity, introducing plans for an upcoming campaign to increase participation in HPV screenings.

The events celebrated the success of the project, gave a voice and spotlight to the communities who were involved, and informed attendees of the next steps that would be taken by the NHS Integrated Care Board.

We want to thank everyone who supported this project, ensuring that the needs, wishes and concerns of Derby City's women were captured.
