Derby New Arrivals Alliance launches its Lived Experience Group
The New Arrivals Alliance Lived Experience Group has come together for its first meeting - a significant milestone for the Alliance!
Coordinated by Community Action, the New Arrivals Alliance brings together multiple agencies to support asylum seekers and resettled refugees in Derby as they settle and integrate into the community.
Katie Pealing from Rebuild East Midlands, who has supported Rich Keene, our New Arrivals Alliance Manager, in establishing the Lived Experience Group, said:
“Our members comprised of 13 people from 10 different countries, bringing with them a wealth of experience and knowledge of what it is like being a new arrival in Derby. The group were passionate, enthusiastic, and bursting with ideas. We are excited for the next meeting to begin bringing these ideas to life.”
A huge thank you also goes to Ann from Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity, and Lesley from Rebuild East Midlands, who are leading on this exciting project.
