As we head towards the end of the year, we’re taking time to reflect on the impact we’ve made, along with our partners and members, by enhancing life in Derby through voluntary action.

Over the next five weeks, we’ll be sharing highlights from our Annual Impact Report – showcasing the work we do as Derby’s local voluntary sector infrastructure organisation.

Week 4: Partnerships & Collaborations

Partnership working is central to how we support Derby’s communities. By building strong networks and relationships between local community organisations and strategic partners, we help ensure support is joined-up, effective and responsive to local needs.

This means that communities are better equipped to develop projects, share resources and respond together in times of challenge or crisis.

From April 2024 – March 2025 we:

• Partnered with Derby City Council to coordinate the Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme, supporting thousands of children across the city.
• Led the Derby Youth Alliance and Children & Young People’s Network, bringing local organisations together to support young people.
• Helped facilitate Family Hub Derby, with local organisations delivering sessions for over 4,000 participants.
• Coordinated Derby’s Warm Welcome Hubs and hosted the online Cost of Living Support Hub, supporting tens of thousands of people.
• Increased opportunities for physical activity in Normanton and Arboretum through DE23 Active, breaking down barriers and building community resilience.
