Spotlight on: Children First Derby
This week’s Spotlight On features Children First Derby!
Founded in 1974, Children First Derby aims to relieve distress and suffering experienced by families and children. They support over 500 disadvantaged children and families each year.
Children First Derby provides a range of services including supervised contact service for children, family support service and a mentoring service.
Their mentoring programme offers one-to-one confidential and community-based support for young people aged 10-18 years who are facing challenges with their mental health, at home, school or in the community. Last year they supported 69 young people with this service.
The money raised from the Derby Community Lottery will all go back into the community, Children First Derby runs a range of different workshops for parents and day trips for underprivileged families.
