Voluntary Sector Forum - January 2025

Voluntary Sector Forum

Thank you to everybody who joined us for our Derby Voluntary Sector Forum at St Alkmund's Church in January! It was great to see familiar faces and welcome new members to our first forum of the year.

The VS Forum is a free, regular event open to anyone working or volunteering in Derby’s charity sector, from small community groups to larger registered charities. It’s a chance to connect with others, share ideas and keep up to date with what’s happening locally.

The theme for our January session was ‘Review and Reset’, providing an opportunity to reflect on past forums and explore what attendees value most about them. Discussions focused on how the forum could develop, as well as what people would like to gain from future events. The conversation also broadened to include the wider voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, which was really interesting. The feedback we received has given us plenty to think about, helping us plan future forums and shape the work we do at Community Action to support local groups and organisations.

Don't forget to take our Voluntary Sector Survey by 31 March to let us know what YOU think about the voluntary sector in Derby, including support from Community Action. All entries will go into a prize draw to win £100 for your group or organisation.

If you would like to be notified when bookings open for our next Voluntary Sector Forum, subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on Eventbrite, or keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates. We look forward to seeing you there!
