Oddfellows is a Derby based friendship group that encourages older adults in Derby to try something new in later life.
Derby Oddfellows is a group of around 595 monthly retired local members. They organise a variety of events and activities in and around Derby.
Newcomers are invited to try any of the group’s upcoming events, including regular line dancing sessions every Monday, short mat bowling every Tuesday, and ‘Knit and Natter’ group every other Monday, all of which are held at Oddfellows Hall at 32 Charnwood Street, Derby.
Lauretta from Oddfellows Derby said, "You don't have to be a member to try us, and there's no pressure to sign up straight away. Come and see if our group's for you first."
Derby Oddfellows is part of one of the UK's oldest and largest friendly societies. It aims to improve people's lives through friendship and support. As well as social events, Oddfellows members can access a wide range of benefits, including care and welfare support and group holidays. There are also opportunities to volunteer and play a part in fundraising initiatives.
