Congratulations to our Chair - Kevin Curley CBE - who won the Daniel Phelan award for outstanding achievement at the Charity Awards 2018 on Thursday 7 June at the Tower of London.
The Daniel Phelan Award recognises an individual's contribution throughout their life to the sector through volunteering and making a contribution to the culture and vision of the sector and is awarded by Civil Society Media in honour of its late founder Daniel Phelan.
Kevin's career spans over 40 years in the voluntary sector including holding the post of Chief Executive at NAVCA, the national infrastructure body, as well as leading roles at councils for voluntary services and working extensively in Tanzania with VSO.
Kevin is passionate about the power of local community action and the way that charities are funded and supported at local level and he remains involved in both areas, as chair of Community Action Derby and as project officer of grant-giver the Tanzania Development Trust.
