We would like to introduce the newest member of the Community Action staff team, our Communications and Marketing Intern, Emily Hyde.
Emily will be working alongside Helen Frudd, Communications and Marketing Manager, on projects such as DE23 Active, Good Neighbours and DHIP (Derby Health Inequalities Partnership).
Emily is currently a student at Sheffield Hallam University studying Journalism, Public Relations and Media. She previously volunteered with us in January, when she came to do some work experience with the comms team, and we are thrilled she has chosen to come back and spend her placement year with us!
Emily found her love for marketing and communications at university in her first year. During Emily’s time with us, she is keen to develop her knowledge in everything communications-related to support her in her final year of studies in 2026.
Before university, Emily worked at a care home in Derby taking on numerous roles, mostly in the kitchen as a cook and kitchen assistant for the last 5 years. This experience has also given her a keen interest in community.
Emily said: “I am really excited to be working with Community Action Derby, I can’t wait to put everything I have learnt over the past two years of university into practice!”
