Introducing Chris, one of our new Peer Support Workers

Welcome image

We are delighted to welcome Christopher Sharp to Community Action as one of our newest Peer Support Workers for the Derby Wellbeing team.IMG_1545.JPG

Christopher brings to the role a wealth of lived experience with mental health needs, which will be invaluable in providing empathetic and effective support to our community. His personal journey through mental health challenges allows him to connect deeply with those he assists, offering a unique perspective and understanding.

Chris is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast and uses his passion to inspire and motivate others. He loves to demonstrate how regular physical activity can improve mental wellbeing and the importance of physical health as a foundation for mental resilience.

Chris said: “I just love getting to meet new people and putting my knowledge to use. I believe in the positive impact that lived experience can have on someone who is going through similar struggles. If I can pass on some hope to others, I feel my own struggles will have been worth something.”

Welcome Chris!
