If you were one of the amazing people who volunteered in your local community helping others affected by Covid19 we want to say a huge thank you - you have made a real difference!
As a Good Neighbour Volunteer you have provided vital support within your neighbourhood to those who need it most. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and we are now looking forward and planning on how we can enhance this type of neighbour to neighbour support.
The collective community response has been overwhelmingly positive and has demonstrated the strength and capacity within our neighbourhoods. Given that we can’t predict how long we will be living with Coronavirus and knowing that resources are already stretched, we are hopeful that we can continue to help this movement grow and develop it into something that acts as a support to everyone within our communities long-term.
We are aware that not all volunteers were able to actively get involved due to the tremendous amount of people who come forward to offer their support. We want to change that and involve all volunteers in their communities to take up some form of voluntary action offering a variety of tasks, no matter how big or small. Please don’t forget that we’re not yet at the end of the tunnel. For many, Covid19 is still a serious threat and means that some people continue to rely on the help and kindness of their neighbours in a wide range of ways. There is still an ongoing need for help with things like; shopping, medication collection, supportive phone calls, basic DIY, gardening, meal preparation, simple household tasks and supporting people to get the confidence to start getting out and about again.
We would really appreciate it if you can take 5 minutes to give us some feedback so we can hear about what worked, learn from mistakes and improve the experience for everyone. You can click on the following link to complete the survey or alternatively please call 01332 346266 or 01332 640000 and we can take your answers over the phone.
Thank you again for your offer of help. We are incredibly proud of our city and what we have been able to achieve together.
