University of Derby is launching a series of free eight-week mobility and functional movement classes to support older adults (60+) to enhance their balance, strength, and overall physical function.
As part of this initiative, participants will also have access to inspiratory muscle training devices, an innovative approach to reducing the risk of falls and improving daily mobility.
The first group of classes will begin on 3 or 4 March 2025, taking place on Monday or Tuesday afternoons at the University of Derby Dance Studio.
This project is not a PhD study but part of broader efforts to enhance mobility and prevent falls in older adults. The University of Derby had great success in this area, particularly in pioneering the use of inspiratory muscle training
University of Derby is actively recruiting participants - if you or someone you know would like to participate, contact Dr. Francesco Ferraro at f.ferraro@derby.ac.uk / on 01332592580.
