Unique Eating Disorders Specialist Training for Professionals Foundation Course

Working with clients who suffer from eating disorders and difficulties can be challenging but extremely rewarding, and with indications that statutory services are under continued pressure to provide support, the case for private intervention grows stronger.

First Steps, Derbyshire's only eating disorder charity, believes that professionals working in the fields of health and social care and education are often best placed to help detect, prevent and support people affected by eating disorders. We know that early intervention is vital to ensuring the long term wellbeing of those affected and can avoid situations reaching crisis point.

Consequently, First Steps offers CPD training to aid professionals working with this client group.

Aims of the Training:

  • To gain a greater understanding of different Eating Disorder types, including signs, symptoms and possible causes
  • To gain a greater understanding of what recovery means with regards to Eating Disorders
  • To gain an insight into support tools used with Eating Disorder clients
