Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Derby Museum's beautiful Wardwick building for our 2024 AGM, Derby Community Lottery Launch, and Voluntary Sector Marketplace event! Your support and engagement helped make it a fantastic occasion.
We started off with our AGM, led by our CEO Kim, Deputy CEO Ejaz and Trustee Irshad. They shared some key highlights from the past year, including the fact that we distributed an incredible £1,636,276 in 185 awards, to 105 different organisations across 13 projects! Finance Director Kathryn and Treasurer Sophie also presented the Summary Financial Accounts. You can view the full AGM presentation here.

Next came the much-anticipated launch of the Derby Community Lottery. Carol Devine from lottery management organisation Gatherwell gave an insightful presentation on how the lottery works, the benefits for local good causes, and how to register. She also emphasised the advantage of good causes registering within the first week of ticket sales to maximise donations. After the presentation, CA staff were on hand to assist the first wave of good causes to sign up.
The Derby Community Lottery website is now live and available for both good causes to sign up, and for the purchase of tickets. The first draw will be on 5 October, with a jackpot of £25,000 up for grabs!
The Voluntary Sector Marketplace rounded off the event and was a hive of activity, offering a vibrant space for local groups and organisations to showcase their work. Attendees had the opportunity to network, build connections and discover a diverse range of amazing groups and services within our community.
