The Covid-19 crisis brought with it many challenges to delivering our services to voluntary and community organisations and volunteers in Derby. As an organisation we quickly adapted to working from a mix of home and office to support organisations and individuals with everything from funding bids to finding employment. And we all upskilled out online meeting skills!
Our main focus, since the country went into lockdown, has been the partnership work with Derby City Council, Derby Homes, Derby University and local NHS partners that evolved in to the Derby Covid Community Response Hub.
The Hub has been at the forefront of the response to help people in need of support in the city and the response and kindness from people in Derby has been amazing.
As we slowly emerge from lockdown we continue to work in new ways to deliver our services and look forward to when social distancing rules allow us to once again welcome visitors and potential volunteers to Community Action. Until then we offer our full range of services via telephone or online - so if you're looking for funding, a way back into employment, or need advice about setting up a voluntary organisation, get in touch!
