The Baton of Hope is coming to Derby on 13 September 2025!
The Baton of Hope is the largest UK suicide awareness initiative. It aims to boost the conversation around suicide prevention and help eliminate the stigma.
The Baton will be passing through multiple locations in the city, and we'd love you and your community group to get involved. We want to make this event as big as possible to raise awareness and get the conversation going around mental health.

At each of the locations we're looking for groups to do something special, whether that's activities raising awareness around mental health or even just bringing your music group to celebrate the torchbearers, we'd love to hear from you!
We're also looking for people to fundraise to support the initiative, so if you could help with events like sponsored walks/runs, a workplace challenge or a themed fundraising night, it would go a long way to raising awareness and ensuring that the event makes a real impact. The opportunities are endless!
