On 30 September 2024, Rachel Reeves delivered her first budget as Chancellor, and this has raised huge concerns about the financial sustainability of the voluntary and community sector in Derby.
We are acutely aware of the number of community organisations struggling to survive with reduced income, increasing demand for services, and inflationary increases in running costs.
We would really appreciate your help in filling out a very brief survey in order to feedback on the effect that it will have on our sector.
Autumn Budget 2024 – Effect on the VCS Sector in Derby Survey
We have written to Baggy Shanker and Catherine Atkinson, MPs for Derby South and North, expressing our concern, especially about the increases in employer National Insurance Contributions. These increases will have a devastating effect on our community organisations, so we are advocating for relief for charities so that they may continue to deliver vital services.
