Achieve Your Potential
Achieve Your Potential is a project funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and co-financed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency, the Local Enterprise Partnership, and coordinated by The Futures Group.
What is the aim of Achieve Your Potential (AYP)?
AYP aims to help people improve their employability by offering workshops, seminars, and one-to-ones support. Topics covered include health and wellbeing in the workplace, building a CV, learning how to complete application forms and much more.
COVID-19 and AYP
The AYP project started in February and worked directly with people to improve their chances of finding work. However, due to the COVID-19 crisis and the social distancing restrictions in place, we have adapted the programme temporarily until we can safely return to delivering the project from the Community Action offices.
We are currently offering telephone support with everything from Learn My Way and supporting people with job applications or volunteering roles to help with building a CV, writing a cover letter, or completing application forms. Just get in touch and Jeanette or Rob will be able to help you.
We’ll also be putting together a booklet of tips together with information videos which will be sent via email.
Are you eligible?
If you are 16 and over, unemployed or economically inactive, not an asylum seeker, and not currently on another ESF-funded programme then you qualify for AYP.
When registering to AYP we will need to see your National Insurance Number, proof that you can work in the UK, and proof of employment. You will also complete an Individual Learning Record (ILR) to determine what you would like to achieve during your time on the course.
How long is the Achieve Your Potential course?
AYP is a FREE course to help people into work or volunteering. The aim is to help you find employment or a volunteering role but of course you are free to leave the course at anytime if you feel it isn’t right for you.
