Children & Young People Network
Statement from Pam Hallam, CYPN Chair:
As you are aware, due to lack of funds the Children and Young People Network (Derby) C.I.C (CYPN) will be closing on 31 March 2018. In order to ensure the Children's Voluntary and Community Sector remains on the agenda Pam Hallam, Chair CYPN, has been asked to join Community Action (CA) Board and as such is a co-opted member and will be nominated for full membership at their Annual General Meeting on 11 October 2017. This is to facilitate a smooth merger of CYPN with CA.
CYPN comes to the end of its 2 year funding from Tudor Trust at the end of this month but still had plans to complete further work. In view of the arrangements from 1 April 2018 a bid for that further work was sent from CA to Tudor Trust. This was successful so CA will continue with CYPN "Evidence It".
The final CYPN AGM took place last week and those members present endorsed the agreement for CYPN to merge with CA as of 1 April 2018.

6 April 2017
Many thanks to Jenny for the information about the STP or Joined Up Care Derbyshire as it is now called. Although taking matters forward will be slower than originally envisaged, engagement with patients and the public is being planned with the first event in the City Centre at St Peter's Church in May. Look out for more information about this. The point was made in the meeting that although the VCS can be a useful route to reach some parts of the community and patients and the public who do not traditionally engage through more formal routes, there also needs to be opportunities for the sector to engage as partners in supporting health and wellbeing. It was suggested that the new 'place' arrangements will give opportunities for this to happen.
Also many thanks to Lisa for her timely reminder of the importance of knowing what your OUTCOMES are, what IMPACT you are making and how you might set about measuring these. Lisa is happy to be contacted if you need further advice and her presentation is available here.
