Making Our Move: Exploring voluntary sector support needs to grow physical activity

Date and Time: Thursday 27 January 2022, 10am-12pm

Location: Zoom

Making Our Move: Exploring voluntary sector support needs to grow physical activity is a free online event on Thursday 27 January (10am-12pm) organised by Club Matters Local Derby & Nottinghamshire project partners. If you would like to book on to this event, please click here.

The project is exploring how local, grassroots voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations can build physical activity into the work that they do with people and in communities affected by health inequalities. What works well, what are the barriers, and what further support and resources might be needed to enable this to happen? What is already happening, what are the gaps, and how can we work together to reduce health inequalities through physical activity?

The event will share the insight gathered so far by the project, invite your contributions, and discuss what needs to happen next.

Open to: A wide range of individuals and groups from Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who are interested in the work that we’re doing. This includes frontline charities:

  • voluntary organisations
  • community groups
  • faith organisations
  • social enterprises (whether or not you currently offer any physical activities)
  • local VCSFE infrastructure organisations and support providers
  • local sports groups/sports clubs and their support networks
  • wider partners who are interested in the work that we’re doing

The project is funded by Sport England and delivery partners include Active Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire, Community Action Derby and other local voluntary sector infrastructure organisations, Sport England and local VCSFE organisations.
