National Citizen Service - Summer of a Lifetime

Community Action hoz

What is v's Summer of a Lifetime?

Summer of a Lifetime is an exciting pilot project delivered by v in partnership with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and our national network of voluntary sector, Local Authority and Further Education Colleges, as part of the Government's National Citizen Service programme aimed at 16 year-olds (or older young people in exceptional circumstances).

It is a prestigious, fun, challenging and adventurous project, which will give you the opportunity to improve skills such as team work, problem solving, leadership and communication.  You will also be able to improve your employment prospects by gaining new experiences, networking with others and enriching your CV.

It will include exciting teamwork and outdoor physical challenges away from home and will also involve planning, designing and delivering social action projects within your local community.

You will:

Have a fun, exciting and free experience!
Meet new people and make new friends
Gain new skills
Build your confidence and self-esteem
Plan and deliver an exciting community action project
Discover your talent
Help your local community
Get recognition for the work you do
Meet inspirational sporting champions
Build your CV by gaining the skills that employers crave
