MAD Day

Make a Difference Day!

The sun was shining as staff and volunteers from Community Action got to grips with their tools and started pruning and felling trees at Elvaston Castle as part of National CSV Make a Difference Day.

We had a thorough safety brief from the Elvaston Castle staff and then set to work on specific areas, tidying up the tree line on the approach to the castle.

Everyone had a great day, learned new skills and did a lot of hard work which was really appreciated by the helpful, friendly instructors.

Andy Potter from BBC Radio Derby came along to interview us during the morning as part of a new weekly volunteering series broadcast on Wednesdays during the afternoon show.

We can't wait to do it again!
