Event by Headway Derby Brain Injury Support
Action for Brain Injury Week is an annual themed event to raise awareness of brain injury on a National Level. The theme last year was to encourage the wearing helmets whilst cycling and this theme is ongoing. This years theme is to focus on the information given by A & E departments to those who sustain minor head injuries with the main aims of the campaign being: A) Highlight the danger signs that require head injury patients to immediately return to hospital having been discharged; and B) Highlight the need for high quality information on post-concussion symptoms, which can persist for anything from a few days to several months or even years. We also run 'Hats for Headway' where we encourage local organisations to get involved and where we ask that schools/firms/colleges etc hold a day during Action for Brain Injury Week when they get pupils/staff/teachers to pay a fee (eg £1) to wear a hat for the day to support Headway Derby. PLEASE SUPPORT US AND HAVE FUN IN THE PROCESS! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT US THEN PLEASE E MAIL OR PHONE:JOY WALSH/SARAH STUART and we will get you some posters and other supporting literature.
