Derby LINk Governance Structure

We are run by a management committee, made up of no less than five and no more than 15 members.  We will ensure both individuals and voluntary organisations are represented on this committee.  The Management Committee has the power to discuss and recommend governance arrangements to the membership in general meetings. The Management Committee shall meet not less than four times a year.

The Management Committee will be responsible for all of the decisions relating to how we work, including

  • planning the work
  • setting policies and procedures
  • working with the host organization
  • working with Derby City Council to make sure we and our host organization are doing what we are supposed to
  • working with the staff team to ensure they are able to progress the work agreed.

The minimum number of members who must be at a meeting for it to be able to make decisions is half the total number of members plus one, including the committee's own Chair or Vice-Chair as one of them.

In the event of a tied vote, the Chair of that group shall have a second, casting vote.
