Placement Providers
Through our network of placement providers Community Enterprise will offer volunteer placement opportunities as well as work-related activities to Flexible New Deal (FND) participants in order to improve their employability so that they can move back into work and stay employed long-term.
Each FND participant (also known as a customer) will take part in the programme for a period of up to 52 weeks. During this time each customer must carry out a continuous period of 4 weeks "work boost" - a full-time placement of 30 hours per week minimum, unless reduced for care commitments. This is to be as realistic as possible and customers should be treated as employees for the 4 week duration.
Another option for placement providers is volunteering or voluntary work experience. The time commitment for voluntary work experience is to be agreed and could be as little as a few hours each week, up to the maximum full-time hours. In addition, the period for this kind of work experience could range from a few weeks to well over 20 weeks.
(If you feel that you might benefit from an extra pair of hands and that you could offer either a "work boost" placement or a voluntary work experience placement, please go to the contact us page and let us know.)
Placement providers and customers will be offered support and guidance from Community Enterprise throughout the placement duration. Providers are asked to sign an agreement that asks for employer liability insurance cover and that each customer is given an induction in the workplace. We would also need to take copies of the health and safety policy and the equal opportunities policy.
