Fringe Meeting Updates

• Health and Social Care
  • Personalisation - Market Development Research.
  • CLARHRC and the Third Sector.
  • Future Health and Social Care meetings will take place as fringe meetings at THE Voluntary Sector Forum.
• Ways forward for BME networking in Derby 
• The discussion centred around the need for infrastructure support for BME groups.  It was felt that currently there is no targeted BME reach out support.
• The general consensus of the discussion group was that targeted reach out is required as the communities don't tend to come forward, but do need supporting.
• Derby City Council wants to explore infrastructure support BME groups; the sort of support required and the best way to provide it.  The Voluntary Sector Team will follow up on the discussion, and will liaise with Community Action.  Resources are available, but may be affected by the impact of the Government Spending Review.
• Community Action will also be involved in exploring future options for BME group support.
• It was decided that the BME fringe meeting would remain part of the Voluntary Sector Forum to keep it on the agenda.
