- Marie Cowie, Health Improvement Principal from NHS Derby City. Health and Wellbeing presentation
- Matthew Allbones gave a brief overview of the Health and Wellbeing Shadow Board and task group.
- The meeting agreed that Matthew Allbones from Community Action and Dionne Reid from Womens Work would remain as the VCS representatives unitl April 2012, to allow the strucutres to settle down
Ways forward for BME networking in Derby
Organisations represeted at the meeting were; Community Action, Hadhari Day Centre, DREC, Zim Derby, Asian Aid Advice Centre, The Butterfly Project, EMAC and Derby City Council. The meeting discussed:
- current community tensions
- concerns around the redundancies at the council specifically regarding community cohesion in Derby having an adverse effect
- Kirit Mistry from DREC stated he would take the issue to the Compact Forum and would also contact the City and Neighbourhood Partnerships department to ensure that the equality agenda maintains a high profile
- All agreed to ensure that practical support for BME groups in the city is available
